Bands have been providing free entertainment in Brisbane since the early 1900’s.

Brisbane Metropolitan Bands Inc., with sponsorship from Brisbane City Council since the 1930's is a platform for brass and concert bands to perform for the BCC Parks Programme all through the year. They play in city and suburban venues such as the City Botanic Gardens & Upper Moora Park. They are also the driving force behind the hugely successful 'Masters In Class' series providing masterclasses from some of the worlds top brass and percussion soloists.
